Nargiza A Makhmudova is Co-Investigator of the English as a School Subject project, and leads the research in Uzbekistan. Nargiza is a Senior Teacher of the Linguistics and English Literature Department. Her research interest includes History, English and American literature, literary criticism, technology and language teaching, and translation. She has 16 years of experience in teacher education and research in Uzbekistan. In 2020, Nargiza defended her PhD thesis in English literature. She was a member of the highly successful TEMPUS team, led by Sue Garton (on the project 544161-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-UK-TEMPUS-JPCR Aston University), which developed local pedagogies for postgraduate language teacher training in countries of the ex-Soviet Union, including Uzbekistan. She has extensive experience in developing and designing online and offline materials in Literary studies, Translation Studies, and Technology and language Teaching.
