Raeesa Rahemin works as Research Assistant for the English as a School Subject project in Bangladesh. Raeesa is a biologist turned social scientist, having recently completed her Master’s in Education, Gender and International Development at UCL, UK. Her research focused on how Bangladeshi garment factory workers’ livelihoods, employment status, health and educational aspirations have been impacted as a consequence of COVID-19. She has worked with children from marginalised communities in various capacities over the years and aspires to continue working with young children and women. Prior to embarking on her postgraduate degree, Raeesa worked in the health and mental health sectors in Bangladesh.
