As well as working as Research Assistant for the English as a School Subject project in Uzbekistan, Mukhayyo R Fayzullaeva is a Teacher at the Linguistics and English Literature Department at Uzbekistan State World Languages University. Her research interests include Linguistics (Modern trends of linguistics, specifically, linguoculturology, linguopragmatics, cognitive linguistics) and Foreign Language Teaching (English for academic purposes, Course design and materials evaluation). She has 7 years of experience in teacher education and research in Uzbekistan. Mukhayyo took part in the project Tempus (544161-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-UK-TEMPUS-JPCR Aston University/Developing the teaching of European Languages – DeTEL) in the period of 2015 and 2016. She completed a short-term study programme under the framework of the project Erasmus+ Credit mobility at the Department of Languages and Social Sciences, at Aston University, Birmingham, UK in 2017. Nowadays, Mukhayyo is carrying out action researches in the field of Foreign Language Teaching, in particular, designing, evaluating and developing teaching materials. As a research assistant on the international research project “English as a school subject: learning effective practices from low level primary English language teachers”, Mukhayyo intends to make a significant contribution to the development of education in Uzbekistan by investigating the ways and circumstances of providing effective teaching in English as a school subject in state primary schools.
